Lay It Down

“Bel bows down; Nebo stoops; their idols are on beasts and livestock; these things you carry are borne as burdens on weary beasts. They stoop; they bow down together; they cannot save the burden, but themselves go into captivity. “Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by me from before your birth, carried from the womb; even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”

Isaiah 46:1-4, ESV

The Babylonian people made their gods, then had to carry them around with them wherever they went.

God says, I have made you, and I will carry you.

You do not need to carry that weight around on your shoulders any longer. You do not need to be bound with that burden a day longer.

Today is your day to make the intentional decision to lay it all down at the feet of Jesus.

Every idol you have created.

Every idol that is weighing you down.

Every idol pulling you away from your purpose.

You were not created by a loving Creator to be weighed down by carrying burdens. You were created to live a full life being carried by your Creator from your first breath to your last.

Rest today in your Father’s arms knowing He will carry through.
